We are recruiting for Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level I to be based in Doha, Qatar.
Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level I is responsible for delivering aircraft maintenance activities that directly support flight operations, maintenance checks, and duties within their authority as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. They provide specialized knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations.
Responsibilities Operational- Plan assigned activities efficiently and operate equipment or use tooling relative to assigned tasks within the framework of Qatar Airways procedures.
- Review work procedures, standards, and propose improvements where procedures are not appropriate to ensure work processes are effective.
- Be responsible for the final release of work accomplished by the Mechanics. Ensure tasks are performed to meet company standards and targets such as dispatch reliability and acceptable deferred defect levels.
- Ensure delivery standards of QR products are met. Aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures. Provide satisfactory support to internal and external customers.
- Implement solutions to technical problems within the range of authority, ensuring aircraft or component serviceability standards are maintained to meet schedule requirements.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to Technicians and Aircraft Mechanics reporting to this position.
- When supervising the work of others, ensure that acceptable standards of workmanship and quality are maintained and that the correct tools are employed to accomplish the task.
- Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.
- Participate in new Aircraft definition and production selection along with airline stakeholders.
- Participate in Product and work scope definition and development through ITCM, PDR, and CDR with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in the creation of Product Specification Documents (PSD) or Quality Criteria Documents (QCD) that meet or exceed Qatar Airways requirements.
- Participate in inspections of product/system mock-ups or demonstration units at supplier facilities or trade shows. Review all relevant mock-ups or demonstration units that need to be shown for review.
- Verify product realization through inspection of first article production with relevant stakeholders (FAI).
- Participate in aircraft pre-definition exercises through trade study meetings, conferences, symposiums, etc. with OEMs, suppliers, and other operators.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the Aircraft program team to resolve quality issues.
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or Trade, or vocational aircraft maintenance qualification, or a degree (B.Eng., BSc).
- Holds minimum 1 full QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license and approvals.
- For internal staff – Minimum of 1 year job-related aircraft certifying experience as EN.00.
