Primary Purpose of the Job
Undertake Reservoir Engineering studies of the Qatar Energy operated offshore Idd El-Shargi field to optimize field development plans as well as analyze reservoir and well performance data, decline curve analysis, pressure transient analysis and material balance. Prepare reservoir surveillance programs and conduct reservoir management activities. Prepare detailed/integrated development plans for underdeveloped hydrocarbon resources and participate in interdisciplinary reservoir study teams.
Principal Accountabilities- Minimum of 20 years work experience in reservoir engineering activities.
- Advanced knowledge of horizontal wells PTA interpretation such as deconvolution, multi-layer reservoirs and double porosity/permeability systems.
- Strong competency in constructing numerical reservoir simulation models (black-oil and compositional), model initialization, history matching, running sensitivities and predictions.
- Strong competency in transient well test design and interpretation, material balance modelling and performance prediction.
- Must have experience in mature carbonate fields.
- Strong competency in PVT, SCAL data analysis.
- Must be familiar with reserves evaluation, classification and booking (SPE PRMS or SEC standards).
- Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff and management.
- Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multicultural and integrated environment is a plus. Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Advanced Degree in Engineering (preferably Petroleum Engineering) or Applied Sciences
- Experience working on mature oil/gas fields.
- Desirable to have experience in reservoir fluid sampling, fluid property modelling, routine, and special core analysis.
- Desirable to have knowledge of uncertainty analysis and risk assessment / management.
- Minimum of a BSc in Engineering (preferably Petroleum Engineering) or Applied Sciences
