About the Role

Create design for minor and or major structural changes and repair to aerospace products, ensuring compliance with all applicable aviation safety and airworthiness regulation, within the privileges of the scope of authorization.

Verify and certify minor structural changes and repair to aerospace products, within the privileges of the scope of authorization.

Prepare and compile comprehensive compliance documentation (reports, test plans, analysis) that formally proves the design of aircraft structure changes and repairs meets all the regulatory standards.

Perform reporting to OEM for major structural damage out of QMRO scope of work.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Review the required design change/repair as requested by the customer (Qatar Airways Engineering/Technical Projects or any other department) and classify if the same falls within the privileges of Qatar Airways Design organization (QADO) to facilitate change/repair projects.
  • Classify a change or repair with the considerations of internal procedures, EASA Part 21 regulations and related supportive publications to support initial airworthiness and design organization requirements.
  • Ensure the design minimizes risk to the aircraft’s operation and crew. This involves assessing the impact of the design change on structure integrity, and fatigue/damage tolerance, including other systems.
  • Ensure that documents created for the design change/repair are of an acceptable standard as per Qatar Airways Design Organization Handbook and Procedures.
  • Liaise with design engineer, and Senior Compliance Verification and certification engineer to assist in formulation of certification documentation and creation of design data to support initial airworthiness and design organization requirements.
  • Ensure that design data complies with change/repair project work scope and implement required engineering changes/repairs in a timely and cost‑effective manner to support initial airworthiness and design organization requirements.
  • Review engineering data and drawings for accuracy before embodiment to maintain Qatar Airways Design Organization technical and quality requirements.
  • Review and ensure that the means of compliance are appropriate and complete according to applicable airworthiness regulations, such as JAR/CS 25 (Compliance Verification function) to support initial airworthiness and design organization requirements.
  • Liaise with Head of Office of Airworthiness to keep track of regulation changes, and organize training, update procedures, forms and processes in support of the Design Organization.
  • Guide new employees to align them with team objectives and priorities and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the manager to lead projects involving multiple sections, internal and external, for the Technical Department in achieving the company requirements.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
