We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost management, and commercial administration for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works. The role will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of MEP packages across projects, ensuring cost control, contract compliance, valuation accuracy, and effective financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities Pre-Contract- Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, cost plans, and tender documentation for MEP works.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify cost implications.
- Conduct tender analysis, commercial evaluation, and recommendation reports.
- Prepare procurement documentation and assist in subcontractor/vendor selection.
- Review and assess MEP contract conditions, terms, and risk exposure.
- Support value engineering and cost optimization exercises.
- Manage all commercial aspects of MEP packages during project execution.
- Prepare interim valuations, progress payment applications, and final accounts.
- Review subcontractor payment applications, variations, and claims.
- Assess and value change orders, variations, and compensation events.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, cost reporting, and cash flow.
- Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation actions.
- Support contract administration in line with project contractual requirements.
- Review extension of time claims and associated cost implications.
- Ensure proper documentation of contractual correspondence and commercial records.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports including cost-to-complete and forecast analysis.
- Analyse project performance, identify variances, and propose corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate cost records and reporting systems.
- Liaise with project managers, design teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Attend commercial and project progress meetings.
- Provide commercial advice to project leadership and management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and industry best practices.
- Maintain awareness of local market rates, procurement trends, and contractual frameworks.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of proven experience in Quantity Surveying with strong MEP specialization
. - Experience in large-scale building, infrastructure, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, measurements, cost planning, and procurement.
- Sound understanding of standard forms of contract (FIDIC preferred).
- Strong experience in variations, claims, valuations, and final account settlement.
- Proficient in Excel, cost management systems, and commercial reporting tools.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under deadlines.
- MRICS or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Consultancy background preferred.
- GCC / international project experience is an advantage.
