Hiring:
Engineering Lead – Rotating Equipment
Location: Qatar (Offshore/Project Site)
Industry: Oil & Gas / LNG
Employment Type: Contract / Long-Term Project
🔹 Work Setup: 100% Onshore
🔹 Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF
🔹 Schedule: 6 Days/Week | 8–10 Hours/Day
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead – Rotating Equipment to provide technical leadership and governance across major LNG compression projects. The role focuses on Gas Turbines (GTG) and Centrifugal Compressors (GTC), ensuring design integrity, compliance, and lifecycle performance of all rotating machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all Rotating Equipment engineering activities across EPC projects and operations
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and companys requirements
- Manage and coordinate:
- Design deliverables (datasheets, specifications, technical packages)
- Equipment integration and optimization
- Interface with:
- EPC Contractors
- OEMs and Vendors
- Internal stakeholders and shareholders
- Oversee procurement phase to ensure timely placement of long-lead equipment
- Validate contractor engineering capability, resources, and technical performance
- Drive risk-based evaluation and resolution of complex technical issues
- Ensure alignment with QGPMS and company standards
- Capture and implement Lessons Learned for continuous improvement
- Support policy development and update engineering procedures
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in rotating equipment engineering
- Minimum 5+ years offshore Oil & Gas machinery experience
- Minimum 2+ years in supervisory or lead role
- Strong expertise in:
- Gas Turbines (GTG)
- Centrifugal Compressors (GTC)
- Control Systems & Performance Testing
- Experience with:
- Compression packages
- Major projects (>$100M)
- EPC environments and vendor/OEM interaction
- Prior experience with Operating Companies preferred
- Strong technical leadership and decision-making
- Project planning, coordination & execution
- Stakeholder engagement and interface management
- Risk assessment and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work in multicultural, high-pressure environments
