Job Summary
The API Inspector – Cat-1 is responsible for inspection and evaluation of plant equipment and facilities in Oil & Gas/Chemical industries, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards. The inspector will use Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and have knowledge of welding technology, working both onshore and offshore environments.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesInspect plant and equipment including Columns, Pressure Vessels, Storage Tanks, Heat Exchangers, Piping and Structural components
Apply Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques (RT, PT, MT) and understand their limitations.
Select proper instruments and tools, calibrate them, and supervise inspection work.
Interpret NDT results accurately.
Be conversant with internationally recognized codes and standards for design, construction, and inspection.
Apply welding technology knowledge for inspections.
For offshore assignments, perform inspections in offshore Oil & Gas environments.
Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering.
API Inspector certifications: API 510, API 570, and API 653 (mandatory).
Minimum 8 years (degree) / 10 years (diploma) overall experience.
At least 5 years in-service plant & equipment inspection in Oil & Gas/Chemical Industries.
Knowledge of internationally recognized codes and standards for plant and equipment inspection.
Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing (RT, PT, MT) and calibration/acceptance criteria.
Understanding of welding technology and NDT result interpretation.
Offshore inspection experience (if applicable).
