Responsibilities
- Supervises hull form design, hull structure, outfitting engineering, and coating system activities.
- Reviews and approves design drawings and analysis work to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering practices, Rules & Regulations, and standards.
- Prepares Survey and Inspection Reports in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Ensures drawing review and approval are completed within contractual time frames and documents changes to vessel drawings following the PMOC process.
- Reviews Shipyard project plans and work specifications for each vessel and provides technical support to procurement and construction activities.
- Develops and monitors project metrics, manages collection of project data, and provides regular reports to project management.
- Formulates project parameters including design elements and implementation procedures.
- Supports project management with implementation of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and other requirements.
- Attends Technical and Construction Progress Meetings with the Shipyard Owner.
- Reports promptly to management any irregularities or concerns related to safety, quality, or other areas that may impact project execution or compromise compliance with company standards and policies.
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, or an adjacent field.
- Minimum 20 years’ experience in the related field and in project planning & coordination within the Oil & Gas and Marine Construction Industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in designing LNG carriers.
- At least 3 years of experience as either an owner's or charterer's representative on a shipyard site team, or as an employee in a shipyard design department.
- Experience in any of the four designated shipyards as an owner's or charterer's representative, or as an employee in a shipyard design department.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations, Class Rules, and industry codes and standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent proficiency in English.
- Familiarity with Piping, Structural, Electrical & Automation standards, design, and conversions.
- Familiarity with governing standards and Class Rules.
- Good communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with shipping-related documents.
- A proactive and results-oriented attitude demonstrating high-quality work.
- Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PC skills, and proficiency in design software.
