Senior Mechanical Supervisor – (Qatar)

Qatar (Onshore) Industry: Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Supervisor to support offshore operations in Qatar. The role requires strong leadership in field maintenance, major overhauling, troubleshooting, and strict adherence to safety and permit-to-work systems within an offshore oil and gas environment.
Supervise and execute mechanical maintenance activities in an offshore field maintenance environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. Lead and coordinate mechanical teams, providing technical guidance during major overhauling and troubleshooting of rotating and static equipment. Ensure all Hazard Identification Assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRA), and all mandatory safety requirements are completed prior to Permit to Work (PTW) issuance.
Verify that all identified risk mitigation measures remain in place before work commencement and throughout execution until job completion. Monitor and enforce compliance with company HSE policies, procedures, and offshore safety standards at all times. Review and recommend maintenance section budget inputs, including spares and materials requirements. Implement effective monitoring and cost control measures for section expenditure in line with departmental objectives and KPIs.
Coordinate with other maintenance disciplines to ensure integrated execution and achievement of department performance targets. Review all outstanding observations from audits, RCFA, CARs, and safety observations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented within established deadlines. Provide constructive technical input and feedback on field expansion and brownfield activities to the department focal point. Participate as required in FEED studies, HAZOPs, Risk Studies (RS/FRA), field completion activities, commissioning, and warranty/punch list works.
Liaise and coordinate with PMT and EPC contractors during project execution phases, as directed by management.
Minimum 8 years of diversified experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry. At least 7 years within a field maintenance environment. Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role. Mandatory offshore experience. Strong hands‑on experience in mechanical maintenance, major overhauling, and troubleshooting. Proven knowledge of PTW systems, offshore safety practices, and international HSE standards. Ability to manage teams, budgets, and cross‑discipline coordination effectively.
