Position Overview
Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level I Light Maintenance at Qatar Airways Group in Doha, Qatar is responsible for delivering aircraft light maintenance activities that directly support flight operations. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance execution while maintaining high dispatch reliability and supporting Qatar Airways operational schedules.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute assigned light maintenance activities efficiently in line with Qatar Airways procedures
- Operate equipment and use approved tooling to complete maintenance tasks safely and effectively
- Review work procedures and standards and propose improvements to enhance maintenance effectiveness
- Provide final release of work completed by mechanics, ensuring compliance with company standards and dispatch reliability targets
- Ensure aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with approved policies and procedures
- Implement technical solutions within authorized scope to maintain aircraft and component serviceability
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to technicians and aircraft mechanics
- Supervise workmanship quality and ensure correct tools and processes are applied
- Support internal and external customers through timely and high-quality maintenance delivery
- Participate in new aircraft definition and production selection activities with airline stakeholders
- Contribute to product and work scope development through ITCM, PDR, and CDR processes
- Support creation of Product Specification Documents and Quality Criteria Documents
- Participate in inspections of product mock-ups and demonstration units at supplier facilities or trade events
- Verify product realization through first article inspections with relevant stakeholders
- Participate in aircraft pre-definition and trade study meetings with OEMs, suppliers, and operators
- Provide technical support to aircraft program teams to resolve quality and product issues
- Diploma or vocational qualification in aircraft maintenance or degree in aircraft engineering
- Holds at least one full Qatar Airways main fleet ICAO or QCAA license and approvals
- Internal candidates require a minimum of 1 year of job-related aircraft certifying experience as EN.00
- Strong technical knowledge of aircraft light maintenance operations
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and quality requirements
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and compliance
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams
