Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Lead Airfield Electrical Technical Officer to supervise all airfield electrical systems and maintenance operations at Hamad International Airport. - Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance for all airfield electrical infrastructure, including AGL‑CMS, VDGS, SAM, and non‑AGL systems.
- Ensure compliance with ICAO regulations and QCAA requirements through regular inspection and testing of lighting and control systems.
- Oversee the procurement, inventory, and availability of electrical spare parts to minimize downtime.
- Manage manpower deployment, resource utilization, and performance efficiency of technical teams and vendors.
- Conduct contractor audits and performance evaluations to ensure adherence to maintenance standards and safety procedures.
- Perform asset condition surveys and reliability assessments for continuous operational readiness.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards, reviewing contractor HSE plans and conducting toolbox talks.
- Review project documentation, technical submissions, and design specifications for compliance with operational standards.
- Supervise and coordinate electrical works for new installations, upgrades, and remedial projects to ensure on‑time completion.
- Prepare technical documents such as tenders, scopes of work, bills of quantities, and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate asset records and integrate new projects into the maintenance database.
- Coordinate with other departments to align electrical operations with overall airport functions.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a diploma with at least 5 years of hands‑on experience in airfield electrical systems. Strong background in troubleshooting, maintenance, and administration of SCADA systems, PLCs, and computer‑based control systems. Knowledge of ICAO and QCAA standards and airport lighting infrastructure. Proficiency in networking, database systems, and data communication technologies.
Practical understanding of VDGS, SAM, and airfield lighting circuits. Familiarity with power changeover and standby power systems. Training or certification in ICAO‑approved electrical courses preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
