Job Purpose
Lead Marine Incident Management, Reporting, and Investigation processes for major offshore projects. Identify trends, root causes, and implement improvement actions. Reduce operational risk exposure by coordinating investigations, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring close‑out across offshore operations. Establish and standardise marine execution practices and best practices across projects. Maintain a robust Marine Assurance and compliance framework across offshore activities. Drive consistency and efficiency in marine execution across multiple projects.
Support integration and standardisation of marine assurance processes in collaboration with corporate functions. Act as a Marine SME and Safety Leader, guiding project teams with strong maritime safety expertise. Analyse operational challenges and implement solutions to improve marine efficiency and reliability.
- Lead Marine Assurance and Vessel Surveillance programmes across offshore projects.
- Monitor vessel performance and report key operational KPIs.
- Support vendor pre‑qualification, vessel selection, and technical reviews.
- Facilitate risk assessments with stakeholders, contractors, and vessel operators.
- Optimise marine asset utilisation and identify efficiencies across projects.
- Manage marine incident reporting systems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead major incident investigations and attend offshore audits and inspections.
- Support downtime reduction through defect and breakdown management strategies.
- Capture and implement lessons learned and standardise best practices across projects.
- Promote proactive marine safety culture and lead safety initiatives.
- Act as contract representative for marine consultancy and MWS services.
- Degree in Marine, Engineering, or relevant discipline OR Master Mariner (STCW II/2) or Chief Engineer (STCW III/2) certification.
- Minimum 10 years’ seagoing experience, including time as Master or Chief Engineer.
- Experience managing offshore marine operations within oil & gas projects.
- Strong background in offshore installation and project execution.
- Deep knowledge of maritime regulations, industry standards, and compliance.
- Experience with marine assurance frameworks and offshore fleet management.
- Exposure to DP operations, FMEA, trials, and offshore procedures.
- Knowledge of heavy lift, construction vessels, cable/pipe lay, and support vessels.
- Previous Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) or consultancy experience is advantageous.
- IMCA accreditation preferred.
