Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shipyard Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for ship repair and/or new building projects, with a strong focus on dry docking and offshore vessel operations. This role requires strong technical understanding, analytical skills, and hands-on experience in shipyard environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for ship repair, dry docking, and new build projects
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and client requirements to develop accurate quotations
  • Conduct material, labor, and equipment cost analysis for marine projects
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to gather required inputs
  • Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure competitiveness and accuracy
  • Identify project risks and cost optimization opportunities during estimation
  • Maintain historical cost data and improve estimation accuracy over time
  • Support tender submissions and commercial proposals
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify scope and technical details

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in shipyard estimation (repair or new building)
  • Strong experience in dry docking projects is required
  • Experience with offshore vessels is highly preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of ship repair and marine engineering processes
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office and estimation tools (if applicable)
