Sr Offshore Surveyor Engineer

We are seeking a Sr Offshore Surveyor Engineer to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company.

• Bachelor’s degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Hydrographic Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry on offshore and topographic survey operations.
• Minimum of 7 years as a party chief and surveyor in a major project with a reputable Survey Contractor, EPIC Contractor, or Oil and Gas Company.
• Full familiarity with international surveying codes, standards, surveying techniques and survey software.
• Familiarity with all types of FEED and EPIC deliverables, equipment, design and construction progress reviews.
• Experience implementing industry best practices and company systems, processes and standards.
• Fundamental knowledge of the “proficient” level in Offshore Surveying.
• Strong technical, communication and presentation skills.
• Project management, conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
• Good understanding of safety, environmental and QA/QC requirements and implications of non‑compliance.

• Identify plan and programme for offshore surveying activities of offshore project departments including geophysical, geotechnical, ROV and oceanographic survey.
• Responsible for definition, contracting, execution and acceptance of offshore survey data for projects.
• Ensure safe execution of all offshore surveying and data acquisition activities.
• Define, monitor and ensure standards and quality of all offshore survey processes.
• Satisfy short‑ and long‑term offshore survey requirements of offshore field.
• Support several project fields and provide appropriate level of end‑user technical support.
• Support selection of suitable equipment, field devices and other surveying‑specific systems; evaluate options and select best techno‑economic solutions for project facilities.
• Provide technical input and prepare project‑specific survey scope for tenders and procurement activities; draft related technical bid evaluation criteria.
• Participate in evaluation of technical bid proposals and provide survey‑related input.
• Coordinate all survey activities connected with FEED/EPIC contracts executed by the PO department.
• Represent company interests and resolve any survey‑related technical query, including interpretation of scope, specifications and standards.
• Control and witness mobilization of survey vessels and equipment calibration activities.
• Evaluate and approve offshore survey equipment and personnel for proposed work.
• Monitor performance of contractors and sub‑contractors engaged in acquisition of survey‑related data.
• Ensure that survey data received from contractors is acquired and produced according to approved specifications and quality plans.
• Review and approve survey‑related deliverables from survey contractors for engineering and construction activities of offshore projects (covering jacket, platforms, pipeline, cable and all other surface and subsea structures) and manage project‑specific geo‑referred data bases.
• Ensure GIS data integrity is maintained.
• Provide technical input related to surveys during FEED, detailed engineering, pre‑ and post‑installation, and as‑built stages of the project.
• Monitor implementation of QA/QC processes to achieve deliverables and facilities that meet project requirements.
• Support safety and design reviews in coordination with lead engineers and other stakeholders.
• Support development of Qatari nationals by ensuring they receive proper job training and development.
