Position Overview
Qatar Airways is hiring a Lead Planning Officer to join its Centralized Planning Department in Doha. The role focuses on optimizing aircraft maintenance schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational efficiency across the airline's fleet. The successful candidate will manage maintenance planning, coordinate with technical and operations teams, and contribute to minimizing ground time and maximizing fleet utilization.

- Develop monthly and mid‑term maintenance plans to optimize check yield and resource utilization while ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards.
- Coordinate with Scheduling and Operations teams to align flight schedules with maintenance availability and capacity constraints.
- Perform aircraft tail assignments after schedule release, ensuring maintenance requirements are integrated efficiently.
- Monitor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, maintaining full compliance with regulatory check intervals.
- Participate in schedule recovery planning in coordination with the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) to support fleet readiness during operational disruptions.
- Collaborate with Commercial and Cargo departments to adjust maintenance slots that enhance aircraft availability and revenue potential.
- Review and adjust hangar inputs based on weekly coordination meetings to ensure effective maintenance scheduling.
- Prepare and analyze statistics related to maintenance‑related schedule changes for management review.
- Support project planning and implementation within the maintenance operations environment.
- Ensure adherence to CAMO and Part 145 regulatory requirements and company maintenance policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning or scheduling.
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and operational constraints.
- Knowledge of CAMO/Part 145 regulations and maintenance planning principles.
- Proficiency in TRAX or similar aircraft maintenance systems.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, and project management tools.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with technical and operational teams.
- Familiarity with Airbus and Boeing maintenance documentation preferred.
