Sr. Civil​/Structural Engineer; Onshore

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design and engineering services in Civil Structural Engineering Onshore for all assigned engineering projects, ensuring technical quality of work in accordance with procedures while considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE.
• Conduct Civil Structural Engineering Onshore engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
• Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, and environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work scopes and during Civil Structural Engineering Onshore activities.
• Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices.
• Support the Engineering Department to review, update, and apply standards and amendments to external standards.
• Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidisciplinary engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multidisciplinary work scopes for projects and other engineering activities, ensuring that the work scope is comprehensive and clear.
• Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organizations for scope compliance.
• Liaise with contracted organizations to resolve technical issues.
• Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
• Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
• Review and evaluate the Contract Changes Variation to approved guidelines and practices.
• Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of coworkers.
• Participate in structured training for Associate Qatari Engineers.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
• 10 years relevant post graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to the Oil & Gas industry.
• Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Civil/Structural Engineering (Onshore).
• Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
• Good communications and presentation skills with fluency in English.
