Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Firefighting / Fire Alarm Engineer to manage and maintain Fire Life Safety (FLS) systems across residential and commercial facilities. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability, compliance, testing, and maintenance of fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems in accordance with Qatar Civil Defence requirements and international fire safety standards. The role also involves contractor management, regulatory coordination, procurement support, and emergency preparedness activities.
Mandatory Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in Fire Protection Systems or Building Services Engineering.
- Experience with in Facilities Management or Real Estate environments is preferred.
- Experience dealing with Qatar Civil Defence (QCDD) regulations is a strong advantage.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems (FACP), Firefighting Systems, Sprinklers, Fire Pumps, Smoke Detectors, and Suppression Systems.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards, QCDD regulations, and fire safety compliance requirements.
- Experience with CMMS/CAFM systems.
- Preventive maintenance planning, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of fire systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Mandatory Criteria:
- Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Strong contractor management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to manage regulatory inspections, certifications, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in emergency preparedness and fire safety awareness programs.
Preferred Certifications:
- NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or equivalent.
- NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the operation, maintenance, testing, and compliance of all Fire Life Safety (FLS) systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, fire pumps, and suppression systems.
- Coordinate with Qatar Civil Defence (QCDD) for inspections, approvals, certification renewals, and closure of compliance observations.
- Supervise contractors, monitor KPIs and SLAs, validate maintenance activities, and ensure system reliability through CAFM/CMMS platforms.
- Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, fire drills, emergency preparedness activities, and safety awareness programs.
- Support procurement activities by preparing technical specifications, tender documents, and conducting technical evaluations.
- Monitor spare parts availability and maintain accurate asset and maintenance records for all fire protection systems.
