SR. TECHNICAL HSE ENGINEER

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Chartered / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.

Experience: 10 years of relevant post graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to Oil & Gas industry.

Core Competencies: Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Technical HSE Engineering. Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment. Fluency in English language with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical design and engineering services in Technical HSE Engineering for all assigned engineering projects.
• Ensure the technical quality of work in accordance with company procedures, whilst considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE.
• Conduct Technical HSE Engineering activities and in‑house site surveys for projects from initial concept definition through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.
• Ensure required company technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work‑scopes and while conducting Technical HSE Engineering activities.
• Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
• Support the Engineering Department to review, update and apply company standards and company amendments to external standards.
• Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multi‑discipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi‑disciplinary work‑scopes for projects and other engineering activities, ensuring the work‑scope is comprehensive and clear.
• Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organizations for scope compliance.
• Liaise with contracted organizations to resolve technical issues.
• Develop, update and monitor schedules for in‑house engineering activities, contributing to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
• Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
• Review and evaluate contract changes/variations to approved guidelines and practices.
• Support the development of personal technical competency and skills, as well as those of coworkers.
• Participate in structured training for associate, Qatari engineers.
