Ensures technical requirements for all the rotating equipment related deliverables e.g. project specifications, data sheets and the like developed during detailed design fully comply with project deliverables and through effective collaborations and interfaces with contractors, vendors, LNG and shareholders to ensure the rotating equipment and equipment scope of supply is fully integrated and optimized.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the technical engagement with contractors and vendors during procurement activities to assist and ensure contractors timely deliver placement of all the equipment packages. Provides rotating equipment including GTG GTC knowledge, design, quality assurance and expertise while overseeing the rotating equipment aspects of the contract, ensuring project deliverables and schedule are met. Directs the preparation and stewardship of rotating equipment scope of work in EPC contracts and advises and recommends design procedures, processes, deliverables and alternative studies as required to optimize project cost and schedule.
Ensures execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with LNG operations, policies, standards of business conduct and LNG project management system. Manages contractor slots rotating equipment activities, including validation of personnel numbers, qualifications and experience, usage of appropriate design tools, including computer hardware and software, adherence with all project objectives, requirements, specifications, standards, procedures, execution plans and design verification processes.
Assesses and validates contractor capability in providing all contract documents, progress measurement and reporting, and recommends additional technical support to address gaps. Manages the technical attachments and scope descriptions to all rotating equipment engineering contracts and the delivery time to all purchase orders. All the long‑lead equipment identified by contractors are accounted for, knowledge of and sharing of previous lessons learned are captured and communicated to support review teams and future projects.
Develops, reviews and amends various policies and procedures to ensure that all mechanical engineering references are up‑to‑date and relevant.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8 years’ engineering experience with detailed knowledge of gas turbines and centrifugal compressors including design standards, specifications, control systems, performance testing, operations, maintenance and interaction with OEMs
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in offshore oil and gas machinery
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience leading engineers
- Major project experience ($100M+) is preferred
- Prior secondment or similar role in another operating company preferable
- Prior experience of working on compression packages
- Demonstrated ability to function in a multi‑cultural environment
- Excellent written and oral English skills
- Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills
- Strong technical, prioritization and management skills
- Good communication, influence and interface skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
- Possess sound knowledge and hands‑on experience in technical bid and tendering processes, particularly for capital and major projects
