API Inspector; Long term - CAT

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced API Inspector – Category I for a long-term assignment in Qatar. The role involves in-service inspection of static equipment and piping systems in Oil & Gas / Chemical plants, ensuring compliance with internationally recognized codes, standards, and safety requirements. The inspector will be responsible for maintaining asset integrity, inspection planning, execution, reporting, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

• Perform in-service inspection of plant and equipment in Oil & Gas / Chemical facilities.

• Inspect and assess integrity of Pressure Vessels, Storage Tanks, Piping Systems, Heat Exchangers, Columns, and Structural components.

• Ensure compliance with applicable API, ASME, and international codes & standards.

• Prepare, review, and approve inspection reports, findings, and recommendations.

• Plan and supervise Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, including selection of techniques, tools, and acceptance criteria.

• Verify calibration and certification of inspection instruments and NDT equipment.

• Review welding procedures, welding quality, and interpret NDT results.

• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams for inspection activities.

• Support risk-based inspection (RBI) and asset integrity programs.

• Ensure adherence to HSE requirements during inspection activities.

• For offshore assignments, conduct inspections in offshore Oil & Gas environments.

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering

• 8 years (Degree) / 10 years (Diploma) total experience

• Minimum 5 years inspection experience in Oil & Gas / Chemical plants

• Candidate must hold valid API 510, API 570, and API 653 certifications.

• Candidates preferred to have NDT Level II certification (RT, PT, MT), API 936 certification, and Offshore Oil & Gas inspection experience.
