Start-up Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Start-up Lead to oversee and manage commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and operational readiness activities for major gas processing facilities and projects. The successful candidate will lead the start-up organization, ensuring a safe and efficient transition from commissioning to stable operations while maintaining compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.

• Develop and execute comprehensive Start-up and Shutdown plans aligned with project and operational objectives.
• Analyze commissioning and pre-start-up activities to ensure readiness for safe and successful facility operations.
• Establish and manage interfaces between engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Lead start-up activities from commissioning completion through stable operational performance.
• Manage manpower requirements and ensure operational staff possess the necessary technical competencies.
• Provide operational input during project development to ensure operability, maintainability, and safety requirements are incorporated into project execution.
• Review and endorse start-up methodologies, procedures, schedules, and operational readiness plans.
• Ensure operations procedures are developed and implemented in accordance with project schedules.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training for operations personnel.
• Coordinate closure of operational risks and ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, Cold Eye Reviews, Start-up Readiness Reviews, Risk Assessments, and Safety Audits.
• Lead Permit to Work (PTW) activities in start-up and brownfield environments to ensure safe execution of work.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, construction, and operations teams to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, environmental regulations, and safety standards.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in gas operations.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project development activities, including commissioning and start-up.
• Proven experience managing commissioning and start-up activities for new facilities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams during start-up and operational readiness phases.
• Strong background in brownfield and operational environments is preferred.
