- Supports proposals by developing the discipline execution strategy, estimating costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers.
- Will be called upon to lead all or part of the technical proposal.
- Plans man‑hour budgets, schedules, manpower loadings and staffing requirements, by skill and experience, to satisfy project requirements and direction given by the Discipline Manager.
- Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences.
- Mentors, trains, and supports the delivery of training.
- Works to resolve inter‑discipline, vendor, and customer issues.
- Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
- Develops environmental strategies for project approvals.
- Co‑ordinates and manages regulatory approval processes.
- Environmental engineering deliverables in Conceptual through Detail Design for a wide range of engineering projects:
- Permitting studies including ESHIA.
- Environmental impact modelling.
- Solid and hazardous waste‑management studies.
- Discharge and emissions assessments including MARPOL.
- Master planning.
- Sustainability assessment.
- Air pollution control studies.
- Identifies requirements for, and scoping of, required environmental studies.
- Networks and inter‑discipline departments; interface management with the Client.
- Conducts Environmental HAZID (ENVID) workshops and develops environmental risk registers.
- Contributes to HAZOP workshops as required.
- Contributes to Formal Safety Assessments.
- Co‑ordinates reliability studies, including FMEA and RAM, where applicable to environmental aspects.
- Reviews environmental criteria in design phases of projects.
- Develops, or contributes to, Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and environmental management plans (EMP) including CEMP & OEMP.
- Oversees implementation of EMSs and EMPs.
- Undertakes site audits on EMS/EMPs as required.
- Identifies and raises suite of Project Procedures & Deliverables.
- Co‑ordinates CTR management & progress reporting.
- Estimates work scopes & CTR.
- Manages a team of professional and technical people.
- Acts as mentor to graduate, design and project engineers, technicians and technical specialists.
- Liaises with the local community and other stakeholders on all consulting matters.
- Works within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
- Collaborates with project managers and project engineers to ensure all projects are set up and executed in full compliance with all the requirements of the Worley Project Management Process (WPMP) and General Management System (EMS) using consistent approaches, work breakdown structures, work methodologies and reporting systems.
- Monitors the closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
- Ensures personal safety safe working practices and follows OH&S procedures.
- Promotes health, safety and environmental awareness.
- Extensive work experience at a senior level within the industry.
- Relevant years’ experience in environmental engineering studies for municipal, industrial and hydrocarbon and petrochemical facilities and related infrastructure.
- Engineering degree in environmental science or another related discipline from an accredited university.
- Post‑graduate qualification in environmental studies (master’s or doctorate) is desirable.
- Experience working within a regulatory authority is desirable.
- Demonstrates a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment.
- Permitting studies including ESHIA, plant environmental audits:
- Environmental impact modelling.
- Solid and hazardous waste‑management studies.
- Water and wastewater environmental pollution control.
- Discharge and emissions assessments including MARPOL.
- Master planning.
- Sustainability assessment.
- Water and waste recover‑reuse‑recycle studies.
- Air pollution control studies.
- HSE register: extensive experience in environmental engineering studies for municipal, industrial and hydrocarbon/petrochemical facilities and related infrastructure.
