Job Description – Instrumentation Engineer
Position: Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Qatar
Contract Duration: 1 Year (Extendable)
Experience
Required:
5–7 Years in Oil & Gas Industry
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer with 5–7 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector. The candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities- Design, review, and implement instrumentation and control systems for oil and gas projects.
- Prepare and review instrument specifications, datasheets, loop drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Coordinate installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of field instruments, control valves, transmitters, analyzers, and PLC/DCS systems.
- Ensure all instrumentation activities comply with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Conduct inspections, calibration, and preventive maintenance of instruments and control systems.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and progress updates.
- Support shutdown, turnaround, and commissioning activities as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of experience as an Instrumentation Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA, and field instrumentation systems.
- Experience in calibration, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation equipment.
- Familiarity with international standards and safety regulations applicable to the Oil & Gas sector.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in refinery, petrochemical, or offshore/onshore oil and gas projects.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
