This role involves the installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of a broad range of telecommunications and radio systems across diverse operational environments.

Telecom Transmission Systems
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SDH, PDH, DWDM Systems, Metro Ethernet Systems, Microwave Radio Systems, Fiber Optic Cable Networks, and AC/DC UPS Systems.
  • Conduct fiber‑optic splicing, termination testing, and troubleshooting using OTDR and power meters.
  • Monitor and maintain transmission equipment, sub‑racks, modules, and network interfaces.
  • Replace faulty cards, modules, power supplies, and associated telecom hardware.
  • Perform cable routing, patching, labeling, and documentation activities.
Radio Communication Systems
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot UHF analog and DMR Radio Systems, VHF Radio Systems, TETRA Systems, NDB Systems, PT‑P Radio Links, PMP Broadband Wireless Systems, Marine and Airband Radios, TEMPSC Communication Systems, and Remote Radio Controllers.
  • Perform RF testing, antenna alignment, VSWR measurements, and coverage verification.
  • Install and maintain antennas, feeders, connectors, grounding kits, and mounting accessories.
  • Support commissioning and fault rectification of radio base stations, repeaters, handheld, mobile, and fixed radios.
Industrial Telecommunication Systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hotline telephone systems, field telephone systems (analog), IP satellite phone systems, weather monitoring systems, nurse call systems, intrusion detection systems (IDS), perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS), personnel tracking systems (PTS), telecom tower light ACWL systems, and entertainment/TV distribution systems.
  • Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and functional verification of field devices.
  • Replace defective equipment and restore system functionality.
Preventive Maintenance
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities per approved procedures and OEM recommendations.
  • Perform visual inspections, health checks, cleaning, testing, calibration, verification, and performance monitoring.
  • Identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Update maintenance records and asset inventories.
  • Ensure systems remain fully operational and compliant with operational requirements.
Corrective Maintenance
  • Attend fault calls and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Perform fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, repairs, and restoration of telecom systems.
  • Replace faulty hardware and carry out required programming and reconfiguration.
  • Escalate complex faults to telecom engineers and OEM support when necessary.
  • Participate in emergency maintenance activities to restore critical communications systems within agreed response times.
Testing and Commissioning
  • Conduct equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Use specialized telecom test equipment (OTDR, RF test equipment, antenna analyzer, Ethernet tester, network tester, thermal imaging tools, digital multimeters).
  • Verify equipment functionality before handover to operations.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service reports.
  • Record fault history, corrective actions, and equipment replacements.
  • Update drawings, system records, cable schedules, and asset databases.
  • Assist in preparing preventive and corrective maintenance reports.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Diploma.
  • Related Technical Discipline.
  • Technical

    Skills:
    • Fiber‑optic testing and splicing.
    • SDH/PDH/DWDM systems.
    • Microwave communication systems.
    • UHF/VHF/DMR/TETRA radio systems.
    • IP networking fundamentals.
    • AC/DC power systems and UPS.
    • RF testing and troubleshooting.
    • Telecom cabling infrastructure.
    • Preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
