Tele‐control​/SCS Technician; Substation Control System

General Requirements

The role holder will be responsible for maintenance and repair work on telecontrol equipment and instruments. The role holder will ensure all equipment within his line of responsibility is operational and in good condition. The role holder will be responsible for maintaining reports on all faults and repairs carried out, including preventive maintenance.

• Routine maintenance of NCC DGCC DCC RTUs, Telecontrol battery chargers, DCS and WAMS systems and attend any pending faults as per maintenance instructions.
• Attend all telecontrol faults during office hours and out of office hours.
• Conduct tests on newly ordered telecontrol spares and contractual spares to verify their technical specifications.
• Receive safety documents from the engineer before starting the job and clear the safety documents after satisfactory completion of work.
• Supervise the identification of faults in equipment, instruments and facilities.
• Advise on the use of necessary material, tools and requirements to correct faults.
• Inspect equipment, instruments and facilities after repair to ensure their working condition.
• Carry out regular maintenance checks on equipment and instruments.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment condition and related history.
• Ensure completion of work on time and proper use of tools and materials.
• Perform emergency response activities as required.
• Submit reports to supervisor highlighting damages and faults that are irreparable.
• Assist the supervisor in preparation of all data and reports for condition monitoring.
• Perform administrative functions in support of the work unit such as timekeeping, material support, cost monitoring and scheduling.
• Work in cooperation with the Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification.
• Carry out and ensure compliance of all activities within the Telecommunication Section are in line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations.

Technical Diploma in Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation / Computer Engineering.

• More than 6 years in a similar role, including 3+ years of relevant supervisory experience.
