Job Title
Senior Operator WWTP - Male
Job PurposeThis position is a unique opportunity with many advantages in the oil and gas career sector within one of the most important projects handled by SPIE in Qatar with Qatar Energy. The project is in its 10th year.
Contract DetailsThe contract is for five years and involves multidisciplinary tasks in the maintenance and operation of a large industrial area.
Key Responsibilities- Supervisory operation of various types of pumps, diesel engines, generators, compressors, blowers, stationary equipment such as piping, valves, and waste water treatment plant.
- Ensure plant isolation procedures, lock‑out and tagging procedures, and plant permit‑to‑work procedures.
- Supervise all related operation jobs, ensuring plant operation, isolation/de‑isolation, waste water plant operation, chemical preparation, system surveillance of potable water, sewage, industrial water, and landscaping network; coordinate and handle non‑routine and emergency works; ensure that operational requirements are met in compliance with safety and environmental standards; maintain good housekeeping and safety standards in the maintenance section; remain conversant with permit‑to‑work.
- Organization, time management, attention to detail, and problem‑solving.
- Computer literacy essential and familiarity with MS Office 2000 packages.
- Proficiency in SAP for job planning, work order management, work confirmation, history entry, and report preparation.
- Safe work culture and practices.
- Engineering degree or diploma in Chemical / Environmental / Mechanical or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in water and chemical analysis and in operating various types of pumps, diesel engines, generators, compressors, blowers, and waste water treatment plant.
- Experience with DCS and familiar with plant isolation procedures, lock‑out and tagging procedures, and plant permit‑to‑work procedures.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills; ability to understand and communicate in English.
Supervision of STP / WWTP plant / utility plant and system operation with hands‑on experience; operation of utilities or similar systems in oil and gas or petrochemical industry or major utilities set‑up.
