Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and technically proficient Facilities Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of all MEP systems in our high‑rise tower portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring the safety, comfort, and operational efficiency of the building’s systems, from the basement plant rooms to the uppermost floors.
- Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of all building engineering systems, ensuring 100% are in good working condition (HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, fire alarm & suppression systems, elevators, generators, and BMS).
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and lifespan.
- Conduct regular inspections of building facilities and systems, promptly identifying and resolving technical issues or failures.
- Compliance & Safety
- Monitor safety programs to protect tenants, residents, and visitors.
- Ensure all MEP systems and maintenance activities comply with local authority regulations and international standards.
- Project & Vendor Management
- Manage service contracts with external maintenance and service providers; evaluate performance and cost‑effectiveness.
- Provide technical input on proposals for repairs or improvements.
- Participate in inspection and handover of new tower systems, ensuring full compliance with specifications.
- Tenant & Stakeholder Relations
- Respond to and resolve tenant or resident complaints regarding building services.
- Oversee tenant renovation works to ensure they conform to approved plans.
- Technical & Administrative Documentation
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive maintenance reports, equipment logs, and parts inventories.
- Assist in forecasting and monitoring operational budget and maintenance expenditures.
- Innovation & Efficiency
- Promote innovations and new technologies that drive operational efficiencies and reduce costs in service delivery.
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5+ years relevant experience in building maintenance and operations.
- Proven track record working on high‑rise, supertall, or complex tower projects.
- Registration
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered status highly preferred.
- Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of high‑rise MEP systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing & drainage, fire protection & life safety).
- Understanding of system zoning, high hydraulic pressures, building movement/deflection, and vertical logistics.
- Proficiency in BMS, CMMS, AutoCAD, Revit.
- Deep knowledge of codes (NFPA, IBC, ASHRAE, local regulations such as DEWA, Civil Defense).
- Professional Attributes
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team and external contractors.
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with tenants, management, and regulatory bodies.
- Proactive problem‑solving, attention to detail, ability to solve complex technical problems under pressure.
- Customer orientation with a focus on excellent service to tenants and occupants.
Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Pay: QAR 1.00 per month
