Title: Technical Writer
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Qatar, Doha HQ
Working
Schedule:
5 days per week / 10 hours per day
Write user‑friendly and concise operating procedures, standing instructions and new projects documentation in accordance with the established competency assurance standard to support the effective daily operation of client assets and the start‑up of all new projects.
Key Job Accountabilities- Develop required documentation for operation plants in compliance with company policies, oil & gas industry and international standards, and ISO 9000 & 14000 requirements.
- Revalidate operations group procedures and standing instructions to ensure continued availability of accurate, detailed step‑by‑step documentation that enables safe and efficient operation and maintenance.
- Review and revise existing plant operations documentation and propose criticality levels for operations procedures.
- Produce concise and accurate technical and safety related documents that reflect industry best practice and client lessons learned.
- Develop operations and maintenance procedure assessment packages in accordance with company competency assurance standards.
- Facilitate appropriate reviews and input to ensure continued development of concise and accurate technical and safety‑related documentation and that “As‑is” and “As‑built” information and instructions are reflected.
- Identify areas of improvement to enhance the capacity of operations to mitigate business risk and meet emerging needs.
- Ensure technical changes are cascaded to relevant departments for updating all plant documentation and related competency assessments.
- Support identification of operational areas requiring technical changes or alterations to accommodate varying operating conditions and propose procedural solutions within operations groups and across all relevant facilities.
- Administer the document review process to ensure all operations documentation reviews capture changes requested by stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Graphics Officer and the Engineering Group documentation section to ensure changes to all P&IDs are properly captured and reflected within simplified drawings.
- HND in Engineering or equivalent.
- 5 years’ experience in relevant process operations in LNG production, including 3 years as a technical author in the hydrocarbon or petrochemical industry.
- Expert in written and spoken English.
- Proficient in word processing, desktop publishing, project planning and scheduling, spreadsheets, flowcharts, graphics, technical drawing and other computer‑related utilities.
- Proficiency must include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS SharePoint.
- Requires strong coordination, analytical and writing skills.
