We are looking for an experienced Manager – Vessel Performance & Systems to join our Ship Management team. This is a strategic technical role responsible for improving fleet reliability, vessel availability, and operational performance through data-driven analysis, maintenance optimization, and digital systems management.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze vessel performance, downtime (NPT), breakdowns, and KPIs across the fleet to improve operational efficiency.
- Identify recurring technical issues, perform trend analysis, and support technical teams in implementing preventive solutions.
- Lead the administration and optimization of the Shipnet PMS system, ensuring compliance, data accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Drive maintenance optimization initiatives, including the transition from Time-Based Maintenance (TBM) to Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) where applicable.
- Monitor PMS compliance, vessel defects, maintenance schedules, and certification status across the fleet.
- Coordinate PMS development and implementation for new vessels joining the fleet.
- Manage fleet performance reporting, technical analytics, and regular management dashboards.
- Optimize spare parts and stores utilization to reduce costs and improve vessel availability.
- Support procurement through technical evaluation of spare parts, services, and framework agreements.
- Lead Offshore Assurance Officer (OAO) inspections, analyze findings, and ensure timely follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with Fleet Managers, Technical Superintendents, Marine Teams, IT, Procurement, and external service providers to drive operational excellence.
- Support the company's digitalization initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Marine Engineer Class II Certificate of Competency (Mandatory).
- 8–10 years of sailing experience across both Deep Sea and Offshore vessels.
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Shipnet PMS
- Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS)
- Vessel machinery and maintenance planning
- Breakdown Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Fleet KPI analysis and reporting
- Spare parts management and technical procurement
- Database management and Microsoft Office
- Experience working with offshore and commercial fleets.
- GCC or Middle East experience is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
