Responsibilities
Gather relevant information about plant equipment, piping, and platforms and prepare accurate drawings, diagrams using computer-aided 3D design and 2D drafting software, preferably but not limited to PDS, SP3D, Micro Station, E3D, AutoCAD, and SPPID, to assist in visual communication about plant functions, design, bills of materials (BOM), and management of change (MOC). Data gathering.
Make site visits and coordinate with concerned individuals/departments to collect as-built information about piping and instrumentation, equipment details, and structural pipe supports.
Preparation & updating of drawings: prepare plot plans, key plans, general arrangement drawings, isometrics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), pipe support drawings or any other drawings; prepare equipment/piping structural supports/platforms drawings including MTO and BOM, and MOC drawings in line with the company’s drafting standards.
Perform site surveys and prepare as-built drawings according to site measurements.
Update plant drawings as part of the MOC process.
Perform quality checks on drawings prepared internally or externally.
Validate consistency between engineering drawings and plant databases (tag numbers, equipment IDs, line references) and elevate discrepancies.
Control integration of vendor drawings into plant documentation to ensure alignment with existing plant design and standards.
Ensure drawing readiness prior to turnaround (TA) execution by identifying outdated or missing drawings.
Support alignment between engineering drawings and asset‑management systems.
Ensure proper capture, tracking, and incorporation of field redlines into final drawings with full traceability.
Maintain tracking of drawing status (draft, under review, approved, as-built) and report overdue updates.
Information dissemination: control native files and upload, with assistance from RIM personnel, relevant information to the company’s electronic data‑management system (ECM) to ensure that the right information is available to the right personnel at all times.
Policies, systems, processes and procedures: identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency; implement all relevant policies, processes, procedures and instructions of the Projects Section.
Quality, health, security, safety and environment: ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Projects Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high‑quality products/services.
Reporting: contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards; capture and communicate lessons learned related to drawing errors, revisions, and field issues.
QualificationsPreferred:
Experience in the petrochemicals industry.
