Engineer; Emergency

Responsibilities

• Fully responsible for water customer complaints process and manage execution of all emergency maintenance activities.
• Attend all emergency cases for pipes leaking/burst or apparatuses needing replacement, supervise repairs, give advice & monitor work on site.
• Coordinate with other departments during shut‑off if required, especially with transport.
• Prepare emergency tender specifications, scope of works and documents for maintenance including reinstatement of roads/pavements, cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Evaluate contractor’s bids (technical & commercial), award to suitable bidder and assess acceptability of contract variations.
• Issue Contract Work Request (CWR) to contractors, supervise/monitor their works, verify and certify invoices for payment.
• Gather data concerning outstanding maintenance works to be attended on priority, prepare cost estimates for inclusion in annual budget.
• Prepare monthly reports or any other required reports and gather data required for replace service connections and mains.

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical).
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Civil/Mechanical Engineer in water networks maintenance.
• Good scientific knowledge and ability to handle conflicts.
• Leading skills, ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Computer literate, training for ERP system.
• Good ability to handle stress, available on stand‑by to respond to emergencies round the clock.
• Literacy in Water Pipe Hydraulics Software, GIS applications and navigation systems.
• Ability to mobilize resources in resolving emergency conditions.
• Own a car and have a valid driving licence.
• Languages:
  
  Arabic – Fluent/Excellent;
  English – Very good.
