The Senior Estimation & Tendering Manager is responsible for leading the estimation and tendering function by preparing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound bids for EPC projects. The role oversees the complete tender process, including bid evaluation, cost estimation, risk assessment, commercial review, proposal preparation, and project handover.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the estimation and tendering activities for major EPC projects.
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract conditions to determine project scope and requirements.
- Conduct bid/no-bid evaluations, identify project risks, and recommend tender strategies.
- Oversee the preparation and review of accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontracting, and indirect costs.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, contractual requirements, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Planning, and Finance teams during bid preparation.
- Review supplier and subcontractor quotations and ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare commercial and technical submissions and obtain management approval before tender submission.
- Lead tender clarifications and negotiations with clients when required.
- Provide commercial and contractual support during project award and hand over all estimating information to the Project Management team.
- Maintain estimating databases, cost benchmarks, and estimation procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Estimation and Quantity Surveying teams.
- Strong knowledge of estimation principles, cost analysis, quantity take-offs, and budgeting.
- Extensive experience in EPC tendering, commercial evaluation, and contract review.
- Sound knowledge of FIDIC and EPC contract conditions.
- Strong understanding of Energy, Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Power, and Utility projects.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in CCS (Candy), SAP ERP, Microsoft Office, and other estimating software.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Professional certifications in Cost Engineering or Project Management are an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in estimation and tendering for major EPC projects.
- At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Experience in Energy, Utilities, Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or Power projects is required.
