Purposeof the Position
As Rotating Equipment Engineer – Specialist for Gas Turbine Generator, you will be part of the engineering team supporting project activities related to rotating equipment, with a focus on Gas Turbine Generators and associated machinery packages.
Responsibilities- Lead Rotating Equipment Engineering activities in accordance with project requirements, assigned budget, time schedule, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with project interfaces and supervise the flow of information between internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the capitalization of project experience in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies through continuous improvement and best practices.
- Implement company guidelines and support KPI monitoring within the project.
- Provide technical support during development technology know‑how, feasibility studies, bidding phases, commercial proposals, project execution, construction, and start‑up activities.
- Review technical tender documentation and prepare rotating equipment technical documentation for inquiry.
- Review and perform technical evaluations of machinery bids received from vendors.
- Prepare material take‑offs to support construction cost estimates.
- Support the Lead Engineer in defining cost evaluations and engineering man‑hours estimates for machinery and related equipment.
- Support the Project Machinery Lead in reviewing contractual technical documentation and project requirements.
- Define engineering requirements and interface with other disciplines, optimizing engineering standards while ensuring required performance, cost efficiency, and simplification.
- Prepare technical documentation for requisitions, including technical supply specifications and mechanical data sheets.
- Support technical negotiations with vendors and review subcontracted discipline engineering documents.
- Prepare technical tabulations and technical evaluations for rotating equipment submitted by vendors.
- Follow up engineering activities after order award and interface with assigned machinery equipment/packages included in purchase orders.
- Review, comment, and finalize vendor drawings while coordinating with process and technical disciplines.
- Attend internal review activities and participate in inter‑discipline review meetings.
- Support engineering activities related to utilities, electrical load lists, layouts, 3D models, and routing reviews.
- Provide support for expediting, testing activities, document management, and certified final documentation.
- Support the Discipline Lead in coordination with Project functions, including Procurement and Construction.
- Support the definition of machinery equipment construction inspection plans and assist with equipment weights and dimensions for construction activities.
- Education:
Master's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering background. - Background: 5–10 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering, preferably within the oil & gas, upstream offshore, or energy sector.
- Languages:
Fluency in English is required. - Technical Knowledge:
Knowledge of upstream offshore industry for various types of rotating equipment, specifically Gas Turbine Generators and Compressors.
Some travelling may be expected depending on project requirements.
