Structural Engineering Intern

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talentedStructural Engineering Intern to join our team! In this role, you will support Engineers and Designers in delivering coordinated designs and/or site supervision activities on multidisciplinary projects, gaining exposure to real-world engineering workflows, tools, standards, and construction practices.

• Assisting Engineers with design layouts, basic calculations, and engineering drawings.
• Helping prepare engineering deliverables, including plans, sections, diagrams, and simple reports under supervision.
• Using CAD and other engineering software (as directed) to assist in preparing design documents and figures.
• Collecting, organizing, and reviewing project data such as surveys, as-built records, site photos, vendor information, and technical specifications.
• Updating drawings and documents based on redlines and markups from senior staff.
• Supporting coordination between different disciplines by updating design and/or site information and tracking changes.
• Assisting with technical documentation, presentations, and meeting materials, and following up on action items.
• Learning and applying relevant standards, codes, and Parsons procedures as guided by senior staff.

• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil, Structural) at an accredited institution in Qatar.
• Fundamental understanding of core engineering principles relevant to your discipline.
• Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD similar) for 2D drafting and drawing updates.
• Interest in structural design work.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings (plans, sections, and details).
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to follow standards and procedures, and good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and eagerness to learn.

• Exposure to discipline-specific software (e.g., Midas Civil, SAP
  2000, STAAD, ETABS, Revit, or similar) through coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with basic design workflows and documentation practices from academic or prior internship experience.
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat for viewing and marking up drawings and documents.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, with a proactive attitude and strong interest in a career in engineering and consulting.
