Procurement Category Lead – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)

UCC Trading & Contracting is a leading EPC contractor delivering major Oil & Gas, Energy, Industrial, and Infrastructure projects across Qatar and the region. We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Category Lead – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to manage strategic sourcing and procurement activities for critical E&I systems and equipment across our EPC project portfolio.

The Procurement Category Lead – Electrical & Instrumentation will be responsible for leading procurement, sourcing, vendor management, and commercial negotiations for Electrical and Instrumentation packages within major EPC and Oil & Gas projects.

The role requires strong technical expertise in E&I systems, procurement planning, supplier management, and contract administration to ensure timely delivery of project requirements while optimizing cost, quality, and schedule performance.

• Lead procurement activities for Electrical & Instrumentation equipment and packages across EPC projects.
• Develop sourcing strategies aligned with project schedules and commercial objectives.
• Manage RFQs, tender evaluations, bid comparisons, negotiations, and supplier selection.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, procurement procedures, and client requirements.

• Review and evaluate technical and commercial bids for E&I packages.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering teams to ensure technical compliance.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and manufacturers to achieve commercial advantages.
• Prepare procurement recommendations and award justifications.

• Act as the focal point for all Electrical & Instrumentation procurement activities.
• Develop and maintain approved vendor and manufacturer databases.
• Establish long-term supplier relationships and framework agreements.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks.

• Manage supplier performance, manufacturing progress, and delivery schedules.
• Expedite critical materials and equipment to meet project milestones.
• Resolve supplier-related technical and commercial issues.
• Ensure contractual compliance and effective purchase order administration.

• Work closely with Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Logistics, Planning, and Project Management teams.
• Support project execution through timely procurement and material availability.
• Participate in technical clarification meetings and supplier evaluations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional procurement or supply chain certifications are an advantage.

• Minimum 8–12+ years of procurement and sourcing experience within EPC, Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Energy, or Industrial projects.
• Proven experience procuring Electrical and Instrumentation systems for major EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of international procurement standards and supplier management practices.
• GCC experience is highly preferred.
