Radio Operator – Offshore Jackup Rig

Rotation:35 days on / 35 days off(Standard offshorerotation in Qatar)

The Radio Operatorisresponsible for maintaining all radio communications between the offshore rig,supply vessels, helicopters, and onshore support teams, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

• Operate andmonitorVHF, HF, and satellite communication systems for rigoperations.
• Relay messagesbetweenrig crew, vessels, helicopters, and onshore teams.
• Maintainemergencycommunication channels
  24/7.

• Serve as the primary contact for emergency broadcasts(man overboard, medicalevacuation, etc.).
• Coordinate with

  Coast Guard, supply boats, and helicoptersduring emergencies.
• Conductdailyradio checksand equipment tests.
• Recordallincoming/outgoing communication sin the radio logbook.
• Filedailyreportson communication activities.
• Ensure compliancewithmaritime and aviation radio regulations.

• Performbasictroubleshootingof radio and communication equipment.
• Report faults toelectronicstechniciansfor repairs.

• Minimum2+yearsas a Radio Operator (offshore/maritime preferred).
• Familiarity withGMDSS(Global Maritime Distress and Safety System).

• BOSIET/FOETwith HUET(Mandatory foroffshore Qatar).
• GMDSSRadio Operator License(Requiredby international maritime law).
• H2SAwareness & Basic Firefighting(Often required).

• Fluent in English(Arabicis a plus).
• Strong communication,multitasking, and crisis responseskills.
