Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Gharnata Consultant Engineers is a Grade A architecture and engineering consultancy based in Doha, Qatar, providing multidisciplinary design and consultancy services for building and infrastructure projects.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our MEP design team in Qatar on a full-time, permanent and on-site basis.

The role includes designing, reviewing and coordinating mechanical systems from concept through detailed design and construction documentation. Responsibilities include performing engineering calculations, preparing specifications and technical drawings, coordinating with architectural and engineering disciplines, participating in design reviews and responding to client, contractor and authority comments.

Depending on the candidate’s experience and leadership capabilities, the role may also include responsibility for leading and managing the mechanical engineering team.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• UPDA/MMUP Grade A classification – mandatory
• QCD certification/approval – mandatory
• Minimum 15 years of experience in MEP design consultancy
• HVAC systems
• Plumbing and drainage systems
• Infrastructure wet utilities
• Strong knowledge of Qatar authority requirements, local codes and relevant international standards
• Ability to independently design, review and coordinate mechanical systems
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and authorities
• Previous experience leading and managing engineering teams is an advantage
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
