The precast detailer prepares precise shop drawings and detailing for precast concrete components, ensuring they meet project specifications, structural requirements, and design standards. They collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to facilitate the fabrication and installation of precast elements.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop detailed precast concrete shop drawings.
Generate 3D models and production drawings for precast components such as walls, beams, columns, stairs, and façades.
Ensure all precast details comply with industry codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
Coordinate with engineers and fabricators to resolve design or fabrication issues.
Review and verify shop drawings for accuracy, clarity, and constructability.
Maintain documentation and track revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Communicate effectively with project teams to ensure timely fabrication and delivery.
Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, etc.) for detailed design work.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a precast detailer or similar role.
Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling software.
Strong understanding of precast concrete manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of building codes, standards, and engineering principles.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Office-based with site visits as needed.
Collaboration with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
