Senior Planning Engineer
The Senior Asset Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and governing maintenance and asset management plans to maximize asset reliability, operational availability, safety, and lifecycle value. The role ensures effective planning, scheduling, resource optimization, materials readiness, and execution support for preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities across operating facilities.
The position serves as the focal point between Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse, and Contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance execution while meeting organizational performance objectives.
- Develop and maintain long-term and short-term asset maintenance strategies and plans.
- Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily maintenance plans aligned with operational objectives.
- Manage preventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance programs.
- Review maintenance notifications, prioritize work requests, and convert approved activities into executable work orders.
- Develop and continuously improve maintenance task lists, job plans, standard work instructions, and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure effective maintenance planning for static, rotating, electrical, instrumentation, and utility assets.
- Prepare detailed maintenance work packs including scope, resources, durations, materials, equipment, tools, permits, and execution methodology.
- Develop integrated maintenance schedules utilizing SAP PM, Primavera P6, and other planning systems.
- Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly, and 90-day look-ahead planning activities.
- Optimize maintenance windows and shutdown schedules to minimize production losses.
- Monitor schedule compliance and implement recovery actions for overdue and critical maintenance activities.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives through analysis of equipment performance and failure trends.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Analysis, and reliability studies.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Reliability teams to optimize PM frequencies and maintenance strategies.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment availability, reduce downtime, and enhance lifecycle performance.

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering discipline.
Professional certifications in Maintenance Management, Reliability Engineering, Asset Management, or Project Controls are an advantage.
Membership in relevant engineering institutions is desirable.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in maintenance planning, asset management, reliability, or turnaround planning within Oil & Gas, LNG, GTL, Petrochemical, Refining, Power, or related industries.
Experience supporting both routine maintenance and major shutdown/turnaround events.
Strong exposure to asset integrity and reliability improvement programs.
Experience working with operational and brownfield facilities is preferred.
