We are seeking an experienced Infrared (IR) Thermography Engineer to support the condition monitoring and reliability of electrical transmission and distribution substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform infrared (IR) thermographic inspections on electrical transmission and distribution substations.
  • Conduct condition monitoring activities in accordance with approved procedures, method statements, and project requirements.
  • Detect thermal anomalies, abnormal heating, and potential defects in high-voltage electrical equipment.
  • Analyse thermographic images and inspection data to assess equipment condition and recommend corrective actions.
  • Report critical findings and equipment abnormalities promptly to the Team Leader.
  • Prepare detailed thermography reports, inspection records, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), and permit-to-work requirements for high-voltage installations.
  • Operate, handle, and maintain infrared thermographic equipment in line with manufacturer recommendations.
  • Prevent damage to plant and equipment during inspection activities.
  • Participate in technical, safety, and professional development training as required.
  • Work effectively under the guidance of the Team Leader and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in condition monitoring of electrical transmission and distribution substations.
  • Hands-on experience performing infrared thermographic inspections on high-voltage electrical equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution systems.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficient in infrared thermography techniques for electrical condition monitoring.
  • Ability to identify, interpret, and evaluate thermal patterns and equipment abnormalities.
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems and associated safety practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for electrical asset condition monitoring.
Qualifications
  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or technical institution.
