Job Purpose:

The Offshore Commissioning Mechanical Lead will support and coordinate Mechanical commissioning activities for a major offshore wellhead platform project. The role is responsible for overseeing Mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, ensuring safe and timely execution, while maintaining compliance with project specifications, HSE requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices.

The role will work closely with contractors, vendors, construction teams, and commissioning disciplines to ensure successful delivery of Mechanical systems during offshore execution phases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise Mechanical commissioning activities during offshore execution phases.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure safe and timely completion of Mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Oversee installation, testing, preservation, commissioning, and handover of Mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with project procedures, OPERCOM methodology, ICAPS requirements, HSE standards, and applicable industry codes.
  • Review commissioning procedures, test packages, RFC dossiers, punch lists, and handover documentation.
  • Support troubleshooting, technical issue resolution, and closure of commissioning constraints.
  • Provide technical guidance to Mechanical commissioning teams and monitor progress against project milestones.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to manage interfaces and minimise delays.
  • Support vendor commissioning activities, including testing, documentation updates, and punch list closure.
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years’ offshore oil & gas experience, including at least 5 years in a Mechanical Commissioning Lead/Supervisory role.
  • Proven experience in offshore commissioning of wellhead platforms, offshore facilities, or similar EPCIC projects.
  • Strong experience in Mechanical equipment installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Knowledge of offshore Mechanical systems, equipment packages, and relevant industry standards (API, ISO, ASTM, NACE, SSPC).
  • Experience with OPERCOM methodology and ICAPS commissioning systems is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills in multicultural project environments.
  • Good understanding of offshore HSE requirements and safety practices.
  • Fluent English communication skills and computer literate.
  • Valid offshore certifications including H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET.
