Phillips Page Associates (PPA) is a growing international consultancy specialising in Mission Critical Infrastructure and Data Centre Engineering, delivering complex MEP, ICT and Security design solutions across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
PPA is building a permanent, full-time, site-based PMC team in Qatar to support its growing mission-critical project portfolio.
The Planning Engineer develops and maintains the project schedule, monitors progress and supports the Project Manager in schedule risk management.
The successful candidate will:- Develop and maintain the master project schedule
- Track and report progress against baseline
- Support schedule risk analysis and mitigation
- Coordinate schedule integration with contractors and the client planning team
- Develop and maintain the master project schedule (e.g. Primavera P6), covering design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
- Develop the work breakdown structure (WBS), logic links and schedule baselines in line with the project execution plan.
- Integrate contractor and subcontractor schedules into a single, coordinated master programme.
- Identify and clearly flag the critical path and near-critical activities to the Project Manager.
- Collect progress data from contractors and site teams, and update the schedule on a regular, defined cycle.
- Track progress against baseline, identifying variances, slippage and emerging delays as early as possible.
- Prepare progress reports, S-curves and dashboards for the client and PPA leadership.
- Highlight schedule risks and recovery options to the Project Manager ahead of key milestones.
- Support schedule risk analysis (e.g. QSRA) and help develop mitigation and recovery plans.
- Assess the schedule impact of variations, change requests and delay events, and update the programme accordingly.
- Coordinate schedule inputs and interfaces with the project team, contractors and the client's planning function.
- Support delay analysis, extension-of-time assessments and claims documentation as required.
- Maintain a clear audit trail of schedule baseline changes and the reasons for them.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience required across:
- Primavera P6 and/or MS Project scheduling.
- Critical path method and schedule risk analysis.
- Progress measurement and earned value techniques.
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in project controls, planning, construction management, commissioning, or project delivery of mission-critical facilities, including hyperscale data centres.
