We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental & Sustainability Engineer to support in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental compliance, implementing sustainability initiatives, monitoring environmental performance, and ensuring that project activities comply with applicable environmental regulations, project requirements, and sustainability objectives.
EducationalQualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline
. - Additional professional certifications in environmental management or sustainability will be an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of total professional experience.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant/similar experience in environmental management, sustainability, or environmental engineering.
- Proven experience in environmental and sustainability roles on large-scale construction, infrastructure, building, or development projects.
- Qatar/GCC project experience will be an advantage.
- Experience with major environmental and sustainability standards, compliance requirements, and project environmental management systems is preferred.
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental and sustainability plans for the project.
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable Qatar environmental regulations, client requirements, project specifications, and international environmental standards
. - Review and monitor the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and related procedures.
- Monitor environmental performance and identify potential environmental risks associated with construction activities.
- Conduct regular environmental inspections and site audits.
- Monitor and manage construction-related environmental aspects including dust, noise, vibration, waste, water, energy, emissions, soil, and biodiversity
. - Ensure proper implementation of waste management, recycling, and resource conservation initiatives.
- Monitor environmental permits, approvals, records, and compliance documentation.
- Review environmental reports, monitoring results, method statements, and relevant contractor submissions.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, client representatives, and regulatory authorities on environmental matters.
- Identify environmental non-conformities and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Develop and monitor sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impacts and improve resource efficiency.
- Support the implementation of energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable construction practices
. - Monitor project sustainability targets and key environmental performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare environmental and sustainability reports for project management and relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct environmental awareness and sustainability training for project personnel and site teams.
- Maintain accurate environmental records, inspection reports, monitoring results, audit reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support environmental audits and regulatory inspections.
- Review and monitor contractor environmental and sustainability performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve the project's environmental performance and sustainability outcomes.
- Ensure environmental and sustainability requirements are incorporated into project planning, construction activities, and handover processes.
- Strong knowledge of environmental management and sustainability principles within the construction industry.
- Good understanding of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and environmental management systems.
- Knowledge of construction environmental impacts and mitigation measures.
- Experience in environmental monitoring, auditing, waste management, and pollution prevention.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability practices including energy, water, waste, and resource efficiency.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
