We are working with a client to source a Shutdown Execution & SIMOPS Specialist on a contract role.

Key Job AccountabilitiesShutdown Planning & Execution
Develop, review, and coordinate detailed shutdown execution plans and schedules. Ensure all shutdown activities are properly sequenced and aligned with project timelines and client requirements. Lead the execution of shutdown operations, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and within schedule.
SIMOPS Management
Plan and manage SIMOPS activities, ensuring safe coexistence of concurrent operations. Identify SIMOPS risks and implement mitigation strategies in coordination with HSE teams. Facilitate SIMOPS meetings and ensure compliance with approved procedures and guidelines.
Interface Coordination
Act as the focal point between operations, maintenance, contractors, and project teams. Ensure seamless communication and coordination among all stakeholders involved in shutdown activities.
Permit to Work (PTW) Oversight
Monitor and control PTW systems during shutdown execution. Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, isolation requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Work Prioritization
Identify critical tasks and prioritize shutdown activities based on operational requirements and risk assessments. Optimize execution strategy to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
Resource & Logistics Coordination
Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and logistics for shutdown execution. Ensure availability of required resources in alignment with shutdown schedules.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Track shutdown progress against planned schedules and KPIs. Prepare and present daily/weekly reports highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
Startup & Handover Coordination
Support safe and efficient plant startup post-shutdown. Ensure proper system handover, documentation, and close-out of punch lists.
--Minimum Requirements--
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE / BTech – Mechanical is mandatory)
- Experience Required
- 8 to 12 years of experience in oil & gas industry Proven experience in:
- Shutdown planning and execution
- SIMOPS coordination in live operating environments
- Brownfield or operational facilities (preferred in Qatar or GCC)
- Experience working on large-scale EPC projects or with major operators is highly desirable
