Qualification & Experience (Essential)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
15+ years in Oil & Gas, including 10+ years in design, construction, commissioning, and start?up, with at least 8 years as a Commissioning Engineer. Strong experience in FEED and EPIC projects, including review/approval of contractor deliverables. Proven expertise in pre?commissioning, commissioning, and start?up (CSU) of mechanical (static & piping) systems and packaged equipment. Experience in FAT/SAT, completions management systems, and offshore projects.
Familiar with international codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc.). Skilled in risk assessments (HAZOP/HAZID), system handover, and troubleshooting. Strong leadership, communication, contractor supervision, and coordination with operations teams. Good knowledge of HSE, quality, and project execution practices.
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential)
- Lead mechanical commissioning activities under Head of Commissioning for safe and efficient CSU delivery.
- Review engineering deliverables, participate in design reviews, FATs, and readiness workshops.
- Plan and execute mechanical completion, systemization, and commissioning packages.
- Oversee key activities: inspections, flushing, cleaning, leak testing, hydrotesting, and reinstatement.
- Verify P&IDs, ISOs, LoSH, and system handover documentation.
- Manage DFPV activities, inerting, preservation, and system readiness.
- Supervise contractors, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct line walks, system handovers, integration checks, and performance testing.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams, ensuring SIMOPS compliance.
- Manage punch lists, handover, and close-out activities.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and participate in safety studies (HAZOP, ENVID, etc.).
- Support team development and training.
