Location: Qatar (onshore & offshore)
Role type: Field / Commissioning support – FAT/SAT through early operations
A leading industrial automation and software provider is looking for a PI Engineer to support the AVEVA/OSIsoft PI historian during FAT/SAT, commissioning, and early operations on a major Qatar Energy project.
Key responsibilities- Provide on-site support for PI System installation, configuration, and validation
- Configure and validate interfaces from DCS/SCADA/RTU into the PI System
- Execute data validation, performance checks, buffering verification, and redundancy testing
- Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and early-operations troubleshooting for the historian
- Ensure compliance with customer data, historian, and reporting requirements
- Strong knowledge of PI Server, Interfaces, and Data Archive
- Experience integrating PI with DCS/SCADA/RTU systems in process industries
- Solid understanding of buffering, redundancy, and performance tuning in PI
- Prior site commissioning experience with PI or similar historians (mandatory)
- Background in automation, instrumentation, or IT/OT systems within oil & gas or related sectors
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
