Purpose

Of The Position

As Lifting Specialist, you will be part of the Operations Department and will be responsible for the identification, preparation, management, review, approval, coordination, and control of offshore lifting and rigging activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role shall ensure that lifting configurations, crane systems, rigging arrangements, lifting objects, hydrodynamic considerations, and offshore vessel motions are carefully evaluated and managed to support safe and efficient offshore operations.

The Lifting Specialist will act as the dedicated offshore lifting/rigging focal point at site for the coordination, management, and control of all heavy and critical lifting activities, ensuring compliance with Company requirements, Industrial Codes and Standards, project specifications, and applicable industry guidelines. The position will be subject to Client approval as required by the Contract.

How can you support us? Here are below main job responsibilities:

Support the successful execution of offshore lifting and rigging activities by providing technical leadership and ensuring all lifting operations are properly planned, assessed, approved, and executed in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.

Serve as the dedicated offshore Lifting/Rigging Specialist at Site for the coordination, management, and control of all heavy and critical lifts. Identify, prepare, review, and approve offshore lifting plans, rigging arrangements, lift studies, calculations, and lifting procedures. Ensure lifting configurations, crane systems, rigging details, lifting objects, hydrodynamic effects, and offshore vessel motions are adequately assessed prior to execution.

Develop detailed lift plans for critical lifting activities, including:

Vessel deck to own vessel back deck lifts with item static weight greater than 20 Te.

Vessel-to-vessel transfers with item static weight greater than 20 Te.

Lowering of subsea structures and equipment exceeding 5 Te to seabed and recovery from seabed to deck.

Critical lifts involving clamps, sleepers, lifting frames, and similar subsea assets.

Review and validate lifting calculations including Dynamic Amplification Factor (DAF), crane utilization, rigging capacity, center of gravity, lift radius, and load distribution analyses. Verify lifting arrangements involving wire ropes, shackles, hooks, slings, spreader beams, lifting frames, and other lifting accessories. Coordinate lifting interfaces between engineering, marine, vessel operations, offshore construction, subsea installation, and subcontractor teams. Provide technical support during offshore transportation, installation, recovery, and subsea construction campaigns.

Participate in lift risk assessments, HAZIDs, toolbox talks, SIMOPS reviews, and operational readiness assessments. Monitor offshore lifting operations and provide technical guidance to ensure safe and efficient execution. Ensure all lifting activities are performed in accordance with Company procedures, Industrial Codes and Standards, IMCA, IOGP, and project-specific requirements. Prepare technical reports, lifting dossiers, lifting registers, lessons learned reports, and close-out documentation.
