The Design Manager
- Transportation will oversee the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects in Qatar. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with local and international standards, and delivering high-quality designs within budget and schedule constraints. The Design Manager will act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination across all project phases.

Project Management
:

• Lead the design and delivery of transportation projects, including roads, bridges, rail systems, and public transit infrastructure.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and organizational goals.
• Manage risk, quality, and change processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Design Oversight
:

• Coordinate and review design deliverables, ensuring compliance with local regulations (e.g., QCS, GSAS) and international standards (e.g., IBC, BS, ADA).
• Conduct value engineering studies and propose design optimizations to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
• Oversee the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and specifications.

Stakeholder Engagement
:

• Liaise with government authorities, clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and approvals.
• Organize and lead workshops, technical meetings, and presentations with stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and planners.
• Foster collaboration across disciplines, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Sustainability and Innovation
:

• Integrate sustainable design practices into transportation projects, focusing on energy efficiency, multimodal transport, and reduced environmental impact.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in transportation design.

• Education
  :
  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience
  :
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation design and project management.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects in Qatar or the GCC region.
• Technical Skills
  :
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, VISUM, VISSIM).
  • Strong knowledge of transportation modeling, geometric design, and traffic impact studies.
• Certifications
  : PMP, GSAS, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
• Soft Skills
  :
  Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
