Primary Purpose of the Job
Provide the front end studies to mature ca 600 mln BOE of contingent resources to reserves for Maydan Mahzam, Bul Hanine & Al-Rayyan (MM, BH & ALR).
The incumbent will supervise and lead Geologists, Geophysicists, Petrophysicists and Reservoir Engineers. Carry out duties associated with geosciences and reservoir engineering studies & activities to meet Development Department objectives of Maydan Mahzam (MM) & Al-Rayyan (ALR) fields. The subsurface studies include both, the developed reserves, and the discovered undeveloped reserves.
Required Experience and Skills
Experience & Skills15+ years' work experience in the upstream Oil & Gas exploration, development and production businesses. This must include a minimum of 10 years direct technical experience in reservoir geosciences and reservoir engineering, subsurface field development, and direct operational experience is desirable. A good level of technical experience is required covering all fundamental areas of geosciences, petrophysics and reservoir engineering for both oil field development.
Recognized within the industry to be an authority in his discipline.
Good commercial skills are required due to the high level of interaction with contractors and consultants, and the accountability for initiating and administering contracts for these services.
The position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. The incumbent must be motivated and have a high degree of self-confidence. Must have complete self-reliance and able to work with a high degree of independence.
The position requires high levels of expertise in working in multi-national teams, supervising, fostering teamwork across many cultures and nationalities, and ability to plan, organize and execute.
Plan and coordinate Geological, Geophysical, Petrophysical and Reservoir Engineering related work on all the reservoirs in MM and ALR.
Initiate and coordinate a wide range of internal and external integrated Geosciences and Reservoir studies for all reservoirs in MM and ALR, to optimize recovery of oil, gas and condensate. Coordinate their execution and ensures high technical quality based on sound geosciences and reservoir engineering principles and appropriately integrated into business process and aligned with agreed goals and budget.
Ensure robustness of geosciences and reservoir engineering related methods and assumptions (Geological, Geophysical, Petrophysical, PVT, SCAL, and reservoir properties) in subsurface models applied for development plans covering all reservoirs.
In accordance to QP-PRMS-based guidelines, coordinate in-place volume estimates for/and prepare the Annual Review of Reserves and long-term oil, gas and condensate production forecasts.
Contribute to the annual reservoir management plans for optimization of the field’s performance.
Coordinate geosciences and reservoir engineering input for well proposals for appraisal, near field exploration, production, and injection wells. Review drilling, workover and well abandonment plans.
Identify subsurface uncertainties and develops plans to acquire geosciences and reservoir engineering related data to mitigate the associated risks.
Participate and contribute to annual budget process.
Ensure that geosciences and reservoir engineering team is adequately resourced with appropriate staff through recruitment and retention of world class professionals. Foster a positive and rewarding…
