Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Role Objective

The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the risk associated within the major/sizeable portfolio of assigned Corporate/institutional clients within Qatar and Overseas branches, with an aim to minimize credit losses. The incumbent will conduct comprehensive credit reviews/analysis and be responsible for regular monitoring of client performance to identify emerging credit risks. The job holder will ensure that respective portfolios carry acceptable risks at pre sanction stage, in line with the internal policies and procedures, QCB guidelines and other relevant regulatory framework.

• Perform all activities, as assigned by the Manager – Credit Risk/ Section Head – Credit Risk Evaluation, in compliance with regulatory guidelines, and internal policies and procedures.
• Review Credit applications/ transaction applications/ Internal Memos, to assess inherent risks within the proposals, in consistent with the Credit policies and regulatory framework.
• Liaise with the respective Relationship Managers/ branches, for clarifications/ rectifications on account of incompleteness of information provided, and to ensure all the Credit applications are completed within the set turnaround time.
• Undertake analysis/organize all financial data for multiple years, including but not limited to corporate financial statements, cash flow projections, credit bureau reports, accounts receivable aging, inventory listings, appraisals, collateral evaluations etc., as applicable.
• Actively manage existing concentration risk (Single Name/ Sector Concentration) and highlight/ mitigate inherent risks.
• Obtain guidance from the Manager – Credit Risk and/or Section Head – Credit Risk Evaluation, as necessary, on financial analysis in relation to Credit Cover Sheet.
• Prepare Credit Cover Sheet and term sheet, as per the approved template/format, and share with the Manager – Credit Risk and/or Section Head – Credit Risk Evaluation for necessary reviews/approvals.
• Assist the Manager – Credit Risk Evaluation in arranging for site inspections and customer meetings in coordination with the Relationship Team for discussions/negotiations with the customers on the facility structure, quantum and other terms of credit.
• Assist in credit risk grading exercise as per the rating model adopted by the Bank and send for approvals to the Section Head - Credit Risk Evaluation.
• Identify early warning signs based on the conduct of account, pattern of requests from the client etc. and correspond with the Relationship Teams to initiate preventive/corrective measures for regularizing the accounts.

• University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or any other related discipline.
• Master’s degree in Management any other related discipline will be an added advantage.

• 08-12 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.
• Experience in credit review and analysis in banking industry.
