Doha Bank a leading financial institution in Qatar is seeking an accomplished professional to join its Treasury & Investments division as Section Head – Asset Liability Management (ALM). This pivotal role will oversee the bank's ALM function, ensuring robust management of liquidity, funding, interest rate, and foreign exchange risks across the group's balance sheet.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the ALM section, managing interest rate and liquidity risk in line with ALCO guidelines.
- Ensure the bank is sufficiently funded and resilient against liquidity shocks.
- Oversee balance sheet asset/liability mix, foreign currency holdings, and derivative usage.
- Contribute to strategy, annual business plans, and policy development for Treasury & Investments.
- Collaborate with the Department Head – Treasury on ALM strategy, KPIs, and structural liquidity risk guidelines.
- Manage intra-group funding and optimize asset/liability profiles to reduce funding costs.
- Guide and mentor ALM Officers to ensure efficient execution and compliance with SLAs.
- Partner with trading and sales teams to deliver treasury products and solutions to clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Banking, Finance, Economics, or related discipline (Master's preferred).
- 10–15 years of experience in financial services, ideally in Treasury or ALM leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of ALM, interest rate risk, liquidity management, balance sheet structures, securities, and derivatives.
- Expertise in contingency funding strategies, transfer pricing mechanisms, and financial tools for risk management.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CA, CMA, ACA, CPA are highly desirable.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity to shape the bank's ALM framework, safeguard financial resilience, and drive innovation in treasury risk management. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, influence group-wide funding strategies, and play a key role in maximizing Net Interest Income while maintaining regulatory compliance.
